|With little need for conventional armor, Skuld prefers to empower her magic arts even further.|
Part of the Skuld 2 The ReGhostening set.
Compared to the Legacy version this item gives a significant boost to MP – at the cost of DEF. The MP gain makes this a decent choice for Assassin because defence isn’t as important due to the ranged nature of the class’s poison. This armor was previously comparable to Harlequin Armor (which pre-patch was considered one of the best, if not the best, armor for Assassin), sacrificing 5 DEF and 3 SPD for 20 MP and 2 WIS. However, after the Harlequin Armor was updated, the Harlequin Armor now has +15 Wis above 85% HP. It is rare that you would be perpetually below the buff threshold, so the real stat comparison is sacrificing 5 DEF, 3 SPD, and 8 WIS for just 20 MP. If given the choice, use the Harlequin Armor.
It’s not ideal for the rest of the leather armor classes, but it could find use on the Huntress for spamming one or two more traps, the Rogue with the full set, or possibly the Archer for spamming a few more quiver shots. With a good pet, however, the utility of of it on other classes is – for the most part – depleted.
Added in Patch X.32.1.0 (Oct 2019) as a new soulbound version of the Mantle of Skuld.
