Enchanting

Enchanting is a gameplay mechanic that allows players to upgrade their gear through the Enchanter NPC using various kinds of dusts.

Currently, enchanting is limited to Untiered Items only.

The enchanting panel can be accessed through the Enchanter NPC in player’s Vault.

Enchanter


The Enchanter resides in north-east side of the Vault, above the Wardrobe. Players can interact with them to open the Enchanting Interface.

The Enchanter allows players to unlock new enchantment slots, and to apply engravings to select equipment.


Key Description
1 Item List - Every item that can be enchanted will appear here. Only items from your worn inventory or backpack will be displayed. This means that Vault and gift chest items will not appear, nor will items on your other characters. The currently selected item will highlight blue, as shown here.
2 Filters - Allow quick filtering and/or searching between enchantable items (both, tiered, and untiered).
3 Dust - Required to open slots and enchant items. Has a maximum capacity of 2000.
4 Slots - Shows how many enchantment slots are available for the item. UTs will only ever have one slot for engravings. This area also shows the cost to unlock the slot, which in this case is 1950 Green Dust.
5 Enchantments - The list of enchantments which can be applied to this item is shown shown here. As this is a UT, to which an engraving can be applied, this list remains empty except for each engrving you currently have on you that can be applied to this item. In this instance, only the Gatling Shots engraving is shown on the list.


Enchantment Slots

To apply an enchantment to an item, you must first open the respective enchantment slot at the Enchanter NPC. This action also costs dust.

Shiny variants of items can be enchanted, assuming that the base item itself also has at least a single slot unlocked.

Dusts are type of currency used in the process of applying enchantments. Different items might require different types and amounts of dusts to enchant. Seasonal Characters receive 15% more dust.

Currently, only Green Dust (Green Dust) is available in the game.

Engravings

Engravings are a special variant of enchantments that can be applied to Untiered Items using a special engraving item.

Engravings don’t cost any dust to apply, apart from that which is required to open the enchantment slot. They are primarily obtained from the Advanced dungeon variants.

History

  • This mechanic was first described in the April 16th, 2021 Producer’s Letter, said to be released in 2021, but due to balance-related issues, the concept was scrapped and forgotten about.
  • Enchanting came back a year later, reworked and rebalanced, and after a few sessions on the Testing Server, was finally introduced (partially) in Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023).
  • Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023) introduced the Enchanter, Kogbold Engraving Collection, and MotMG 2023 Engraving Collection.
  • Exalt Version 4.0.0.0 (Aug 2023) introduced tiered equipment enchanting and the Advanced Nest collection. However, the Advanced Nest collection wasn’t available till August 15, 2023, coinciding with the proper release of the Advanced Nest. In that version, Green Dust also started dropping in every Exaltation dungeon.


Trivia

  • Items dropped prior to Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023) won’t have any enchantment slots available.
  • The Enchanter uses a sprite resembling Daevas from MotMG 2021.
