Drake eggs, when used (you don’t eat it, jerks!), reveal a drake hatchling that is immediately ready to aid by your side. There are 6 different colors of drakes with each one having a different effect on the player or towards nearby enemies. Drake eggs can be very helpful in certain scenarios such as using a white drake egg while having the Pet Stasis effect.
If an effect of an egg is targeted on any nearby enemies, they will apply the effect even if they are immune to the effect. For example, the green drake hatchling will nearby enemies even if they are immune to slow. This does NOT apply to the orange drake egg, where enemies that are normally immune to stasis will not be affected by the orange hatchling’s effects.

Specific enemies throughout the realm will drop certain colored drake eggs. The Treasure Pots in the Lost Halls dungeon have a chance of dropping all colors of drake eggs.
Purple drake eggs are dropped by Lesser Gods, by Lair Construct Giants, by Lair Construct Titans and Large Ghost archers from the Ghost King.
Blue and yellow drake eggs are commonly dropped by the Large Ghost archers that spawn from the Ghost King. However, the small and medium archers DO NOT drop the drake eggs.
Green drake eggs can be dropped from Greater Nature Sprites.
Orange drake eggs can be dropped from Phylactery Bearers.
White drakes can be dropped by Adult White Dragons and Ghost Masters, although they appear to drop at a much lower rate than any other drake egg. Their healing strength is similar strength to that of a pet with a level 90 ability Heal (drakes can heal 50 HP/sec while a level 90 pet can heal 48.59 HP/sec).
The idea behind the baby colored drake pet skins is partly credited towards a large player-hosted event, from the player Liam, where players gathered together and opened drake eggs all at the same time to celebrate their companionship. Liam has also quoted many times that he “would absolutely love to have permanent drakes”, and thus the skins were created.
