Behavior

Phase 1
Pursues a nearby player until it reaches a distance of ~5-6 tiles when it will stop moving and begin shooting Fire Missile attacks in 45 degree intervals. The mage is invulnerable all the time except when shooting. The mage spends most of his time in this phase.

Phase 2
Spawns a large number of invulnerable Fire Bombs in a short circle around itself. It will become vulnerable for a short period during the spawn.

Tips and Strategies

All Classes:

While the mage is in phase 1 of his attacks, it is safe to approach and damage him. Always try to position yourself between his shots, as his firing pattern never changes and he will be completely unable to damage you.

If the mage enters his second phase, as indicate by a brief glow and invulnerability, back away, and wait for the bombs to explode. The bombs themselves cannot be damaged, and will inflict incredibly high damage to nearby players. NEVER allow yourself to be caught in the center of the bomb cluster, or walk over an exploding bomb - this will instantly kill any non-melee classes

When fighting a group of mages, this enemy should be given the lowest priority.
