Forge (Rev. 28)

This page is currently a work in progress.

Last updated: Exalt Version 2.3.2.0 (June 2022)

The Forge is a gameplay mechanic that allows players to exchange undesired Untiered (UT) and Set Tier (ST) items for others. The Forge was introduced to the Vault in Exalt Version 1.3.0.0 (Dec 2020).

The Realm Eye says:
Truth be told, I have seen the Blacksmith quite a few times already. Don’t ask her, but she’s old. Like, quite old. She was first seen in the eastern lands, then here and there. She wanted to study the craftsmanship of artifacts all around the realm.
While traveling, she was always taking frantic notes with extreme interest on crafting methods of the different civilizations. I know she also accompanied Davy Jones’ fleet for a while before he lost against Oryx, and she mourned the loss of her friend.
Somehow, after Oryx opened his Sanctuary, things went sour and she got serious. She found the Nexus and decided to take the adventurers’ side. But most of her notes on the items she studied are lost and scattered around the realm, and who knows where else.

Inside the Forge

Materials

Items require varying quantities of materials, with UT’s forged from common Common Material, rare Rare Material and legendary Legendary Material materials, and ST’s forged from mythical Mythical Material materials.

These materials are obtained by dismantling other untiered/set tier items.

Materials cannot be extracted from the item they are a part of; they are a part of the item itself and cannot exist on their own. Because of this, unused materials are not saved nor stored between forges.

Majority of items also require marks from the dungeon they drop from to forge.

There are a few differences between UT and ST forging beyond materials though. Some powerful endgame UT’s require at least one UT from its same dungeon/set of dungeons. For example, a Crystal Shield requires at least one other UT from the Fungal/Crystal Cavern is used to forge it. ST’s on the other hand require Mythical Set Tokens for their respective set instead of dungeon marks. These tokens currently don’t drop, but once released, will drop from various specific dungeons.

Forgefire

Forging consumes Forgefire Forgefire, which is obtained at a rate of 300 per day or by using Sulphur. A maximum of 1600 Forgefire can be accumulated at any given time.

Until Exalt Version 1.3.0.2 (Jan 2021), Forgefire was obtained at a rate of 400 per day.

Tiers

Items can be roughly sorted into six tiers depending on their required materials and Forgefire. As a general rule, dismantling items of a given tier will give a third of the materials it would take to forge the item. This also means it takes three items in a given tier to forge an item in the same tier.
A notable exception is the SS tier which provides the same materials as items in the S tier when dismantling, however requires four S or SS tier items instead of three to forge.

Ore

Ore can be found as a rare drop from enemies, bought from the shop, or (tentatively) a reward for limited-time events and daily logins. There are four qualities of ore: Basic, Greater, Superior, and Paramount, corresponding to the C, B, A, and S tiers respectively.

A single ore can be used in the forging of an item and will give equivalent materials to a UT of its tier.

Exclusive/Limited Items

Many UTs, such as seasonal/event reskins of existing items and special UT set items, can only be dismantled.

Reskinned UT items will typically grant the same materials as their base item.

UT items that don’t have a base item (such as the Agents of Oryx Gear) will grant materials relative to their rarity and power.
