The Marble Defender is found at the back of a square room just like all the others in the Halls, along with a large line of stationary statues that resemble smaller versions of itself. Upon being approached, the Defender will activate and become marked as a Quest for all players.
The Marble Defender will be invulnerable for the first few seconds of its activation and taunt:
“You know not what awaits behind this wall. Please, turn back before you regret your actions.”
About five seconds later, it will become vulnerable and attack. It will cycle through 3 phases each time it loses 1/3 of its HP, with short invulnerability times between its phases.
Taunt: “I wish only to protect you. Forgive me, but I have no other choice.”
The Defender fires constant rows of spears from the line of statues lining the wall. Each wave is extremely dense, but will always have one opening in it. The opening will constantly shift, allowing players to dodge the waves by moving in a zigzag pattern.
Taunt: “Your confidence is gravely misplaced, heroes.”
The Defender begins firing more rows of spears at a slower pace. These rows will always have one or two gaps in them to allow dodging, placed at seemingly random points along the row.
Taunt: “Do not allow this evil to escape!”
The Defender continues firing like before. In addition, two statues situated in the bottom corners of the room will begin firing waves of spears into the room as well.
Taunt: “I can protect your world no longer. You are now responsible for the fate of the realm.”
The Marble Defender dies, destroying all of the statues and leaving behind its loot. The wall behind it will vanish, allowing access to the Marble Colossus’ chamber.
The Defender can deal a lot of damage very fast. Don’t try to tank the waves of spears, just try to locate safespots in his bullet patterns and exploit them.
Beware of the statues that will start shooting from behind during his last phase.
