Behavior

The Tormented Golem is found in the center of its spawn room, surrounded by a squad of assorted Lost Golems. Throughout all of its phases, every 5 seconds it will inflict Armor Broken upon itself for 1 second, to give players temporary openings to bypass its obscene defenses.

Initially, it will slowly chase after players, firing radial bursts of highly damaging yellow spears.

Upon reaching half health, it will flash red and become invulnerable for a few seconds. It will retreat into the center of the room and become immobile, attacking nearby players with a spread of spears.

Upon reaching 1/4 HP, the Tormented Golem will flash red and become invulnerable for another few seconds. It will then begin to aggressively lunge at players while firing rings of spears.

Tips and Strategies

Becauase of the Golem’s immense damage output, dodging all of its shots is a must. It is heavily advised to either get rid of all its Lost Golems beforehand, or lure it into another room to isolate it. Make sure to watch out for when it starts chasing again, and DO NOT let it sit on you - this will cause swift death.
Tricksters are particularly useful for taking it down, as their Decoys can lure away all of its shots during its second phase, and make it easy to lock it into place in its last phase.

An interesting thing to take note of is this enemy’s monumental DEF stat of 1,000. Almost all attacks will deal minimal damage to it, making it a rather lengthly process to kill it. It’s best to focus it as hard as possible during the moments it Armor Breaks itself. Additionally, Armor Piercing attacks such as those from the Crystal Wand, Spiteful Scutum and the Queen’s Stinger, as well as the more reliable Armor Break from the Shield of Ogmur will ease the process of killing it.
