Notes
This ability uniquely throws out eight armor-piercing parametric discs that revolve around the user, with the inner four red discs Stunning foes. Its total damage is massive, but requires an already-squishy class to be standing on top of a foe, or for an enemy to be standing on the firing origin when the discs return to their origin - both of which are highly impractical. While its ability to Stun is devastating (as of its release, this makes Ninja the only class besides the Knight that can Stun foes), the Inner Circle’s pitiful range of 1.5 tiles mean that the Ninja has to get dangerously close to foes to Stun them (while Knights can reliably Stun at a range of 3.5 tiles). It also grants Healing on use - which does not have a cooldown - allowing the Ninja to become self-sustaining and keep their HP topped up.
While its odd firing pattern, short range, and other quirks often leave the Ballistic Star a less appealing choice compared to its alternatives, it nonetheless has its uses. It’s a good choice for self-sustain with the Healing buff during small groups or solos that might lack healing power, and it’s especially useful against foes that either chase players or move in predictable patterns, as Ninjas can set up minefields of the parametric discs to cut them apart and/or Stun them once they move through it. If one happens to also have the Centaur’s Shielding, the Ballistic Star synergizes incredibly well with it, allowing the Ninja to activate the armor’s ATT boost all by themselves.
