Although this shield has less defense and has no fame bonus, It does more overall damage than the Golden Shield and supplies a +3 speed boost, which can come in handy in certain occasions, such as rushing. However, if you have a Mithril Shield or better, the extra defense and damage normally outweighs the extra 3 speed.
