While having the strongest damage and an increased fire rate (even greater than the Dirk of Cronus), the small plummet of range is what nerfs this dagger. Most dagger classes can risk the range reduction (dependent on your dagger), in exchange for the heavy DPS increase.
This dagger is most effecive if equipped on a Rogue, as the use of a cloak nullifies the downsides of having lower range, and allows the user to get close with little risk. Note that this stategy will not work in highly-populated areas, as you may be hit by projectiles fired at other players.

This item was released via the Alchemist and was later added as a drop.
It used to drop in a cyan bag before the addition of orange bags in Patch X.18.0.
This dagger used to give +4 VIT and +4 WIS. However, this was given to the Spectral Ring of Horrors.
In Patch X.32.1.0, all existing Etherite Daggers were turned into Legacy Etherite Daggers.
