This staff outdamages Staff of the Cosmic Whole up until 6 Def, and Staff of Esben up until 58 Def. It also has higher amplitude, making it little bit harder to use than other staves (not as much as Sentient staff). Some consider this staff the equivalent of a Thousand Shot Bow for staff classes due to its fast rate of fire.
