When the entire Legacy Twilight Archmage Set is equipped, the weapon projectile changes to:
The Legacy Sentinent Staff has the same average damage as the Staff of the Cosmic Whole but offers an additional +10 HP, +5 MP and +10 WIS. The additional stats are impressive, but the amplitude and frequency of the staff (similar to the Staff of Esben) make it a lot more challenging to hit enemies than with traditional staves. The shots form a sort of figure eight pattern with two convergence points, at roughly four and eight tiles distance, so if your targeted enemy can be safely maintained at either of these ranges the staff becomes more viable.
Added in Release 27.6 (Aug 2015) under its original name Sentient Staff.
Under its previous name this staff was first made available through The Alchemist.
Sentient Staff was not added as a drop until Sep 2016 when as part of an ‘ST Weekend’ event it was added to The Forgotten King (at double drop rate throughout the event), and it remained an ongoing drop after the event ended in Patch 27.7.X5 (Sep 2016).
It used to drop in a cyan bag before the addition of orange bags in Patch X.18.0 (Sep 2017).
In Patch X.31.9.0 (Oct 2019) the item was renamed to Legacy Sentient Staff upon the release of a new soulbound version of the weapon: Sentient Staff. The original-now-Legacy version was removed as a drop at this time.
