With HP/MP bonuses comparable to T1 Rings and providing a measly 3 DEX, this ring is usually useless on its own. However, the set bonus from the full set is significant (+115 HP, +3 ATT, +10 DEF, +4 SPD), and this ring is required to access it, so the stats from the full set can be considered a part of this ring’s bonuses, since the other parts of the set don’t really weigh you down a lot.

On the contrary, if one is willing to equip the other 3 items of the set permanently, this ring can be replaced by other end-game rings with a greater reward to sacrifice ratio. For instance, equipping the Forgotten Crown will grant +110 HP, +6 ATT, +6 DEX, all while sacrificing the 130 HP (100 + 30 HP), 40 MP and 3 DEX gotten from wearing the Akuma’s Tear and completing the set, giving it a net change of -20 HP, -40 MP for +6 ATT and +3 DEX and an extra 1% fame bonus, which is a significantly better trade-off in general.
