Notes
This tome’s ability to instantly strike anywhere within the user’s sight range with a devastating, low cooldown, armor-piercing AoE attack, makes it unrivaled among tomes in terms of increasing DPS. It arguably increases damage output more than stat-buffing tomes like the Ceremonial Merlot and Tome of Holy Furor and deals far more damage than the Tome of Pain while outranging it by a large margin. While the Tome of the Tarnished Gods can do significantly more damage, it relies on distributing that damage over 6 seconds. This ability can single-handedly turn a Priest into a long-distance damage machine, capable of supplementing their wand shots with devastating Chaos Beams that can both clear out groups of enemies at a time or deal heavy damage to bosses.
The Chaotic Scripture pays for this by having some of the lowest healing among all tomes of its class and the highest MP cost of all tomes, tied with the Tome of Holy Protection. Using the Scripture would be unwise if the situation calls for group or self healing rather than DPS.
