Notes

Not to be confused with the admin Crown.

The Forgotten Crown (or just Crown) is tied with the Magical Lodestone for the 3rd highest DPS-stat increasing ring. They are only beaten by the Crown’s upgrade, the Chrysalis of Eternity, and the Overclocking Amulet. Chrysalis has more of every stat, but requires beating the hardmode Shatters to acquire. whereas the Overclocking Amulet has an extra dex and attack compared to Chrysalis, but incredibly low survivability.

The Crown gives a decent HP boost and +12 to offensive stats. It’s a very simple ring. But the balance of very strong offense and survivability make it an excellent choice for almost every class.

While an coveted ring, many alternatives can be easier to acquire, and in some cases, stronger:

  • The Twilight Gemstone can be preferred on classes with powerful abilities and a high MP Heal pet. While it lacks HP, it offers incredible DPS boosts that surpass even the Chrysalis, in an optimal scenario.

  • The Collector’s Monocle offers more HP than the Crown and +20 ATT while Invisible. A clear upgrade for the Rogue. Other classes could use the Turncoat Cape, but the loss of armor slot results in less damage.

  • The Chancellor’s Cranium has superior defenses, while its short ranged proc can make up for its weak DPS stats in a unique way. Melee classes can make the most use of it, or for players who otherwise play up close.

  • The Exalted God’s Horn main appeal is its defensive edge (net +30 HP, +5 DEF). While above 90% HP, you gain +10 DEX. While it is worse for DPS, low DEX classes like Knight, Archer, an Priest may find a comparable damage boost - assuming they can avoid too much damage.

  • Generally worse DPS rings include the Divine Coronation and Omnipotence Ring. Omni may be better on classes reliant on their abilities, like Sorcerer or Priest.

With the introduction of the Chrysalis, the Crown has lost much of its original prestige. Nonetheless, it remains a powerful and highly sought after ring, from a very difficult dungeon.
