A peculiar stone, tremendously heavy for its size and seemingly not of this world. Its very presence in the realm raises a great deal more questions than answers, yet the uncanny energy it emanates provides only one haunting clue. |

Notes
The Twilight Gemstone offers a very noticeable MP cost reduction of 30%. This allows it to be an amazing ring for both utility and DPS. For long distance rushes, like realm clearing, the Trickster appreciates the ability to teleport more often (and a +5 SPD boost). For group healing, there’s no better ring for the Priest.
The Gemstone really shines when combined with high damage abilities. Many endgame players consider this to be the best damage-increasing ring with items like the Oryx’s Escutcheon or Tablet of the King’s Avatar. Specifically, this is only true if your pet possesses high MP heal. For example, Gemstone increases one’s total DPS even more than the most powerful DPS rings after 3 casts of Escutcheon or 5 casts of Tablet, with lost damage from stats recovered after 1 more cast. This applies to any high damage ability, such as most spells.
However, the Gemstone has one major flaw: it doesn’t give HP. The +8 DEF helps, but not for the types of content you’d want or need such strong utility for. Ability boosting alternatives, which give HP and are from easier dungeons, include items like Sourcestone and the Omnipotence Ring. Alternatively, synergistic items in other slots such as the Penetrating Blast Spell or the Breastplate of New Life can help offset the lack of HP.
The Gemstone’s proc will not reduce the MP cost of holding abilities down (such as Ninja Stars or the Crystal Shield).
History
Before Patch X.33.1.0 (May 2020), this item had a Feed Power of 500.
Before Exalt Version 2.0.2.0 (Aug 2021), the item had the tooltip “An odd stone, emanating a dark and mysterious energy.” It gave +6 DEF, +6 SPD, +110 MP, an XP bonus of 7%, and had no reactive proc. As 6 DEF is largely worse than 110 HP, it was considered a straight downgrade to the aformentioned Sourcestone. It also had the following sprite:
