Behavior

The Permafrost Lord will always spawn in the Mountains region upon the Realm’s creation. He is found in a small, snowy patch of ground, dormant and invulnerable.
In order to activate it, players must track down and kill 20 of the Ice Constructs roaming the mountains. Every time one is slain, a small flame will emerge from it and teleport to the Permafrost Lord, beginning to orbit it. Once ten are killed, the Permafrost Lord will perform a global taunt to alert you to that fact. Once 20 are killed, it will taunt:
“No! You too will embrace the realm of eternal ice!”
“Futile! The endless winter will soon be upon us all!

After a brief delay, it will absorb the flames, activate, and begin its attack.

The Permafrost Lord follows several phases that it changes every time it loses 20% of its HP, with small periods of invulnerability in between phases. Throughout the whole fight, the Permafrost Lord will spawn Ice Constructs to help it.

Phase 1

The Permafrost Lord wanders in place while firing rings of blue orbs.

Phase 2

Taunt: “Ice, sorrow, darkness!”
The Permafrost Lord stops firing the rings and begin rapidly firing 6-directional beams of icicles aimed at the nearest player that fire outwards before retracting back towards it.

Phase 3

Taunt: “The lands will be painted white!”
The Permafrost Lord will resume firing rings of blue orbs, however now at a much faster rate.

Phase 4

Taunt: “With the winter’s might!”
The Permafrost Lord retreats to the center of its setpiece and becomes immobile. It them begins firing massive slowing stars along the cardinal and intermediate directions, along with a messy flurry of snowflakes that revolve around it erratically. One of the snowflake types it fires has a much longer range and inflicts Weak for 5 seconds.

Phase 5

Taunt: “Enough!”
Flashing red, the Permafrost Lord Armors itself (resulting in 80 DEF) and begins chasing players while firing rapid shotguns of blue orbs, 3-way spreads of its icicle “beams”, and 4-way bursts of giant ice stars diagonally to it. This phase lasts until its death.

Tips and Strategies

The Permafrost Lord is highly dangerous and should not be taken lightly. Since it sprays large quantities of bullets in its last phases, melees are advised to get their damage in as early as possible. Ranged classes should stay as far as possible while firing at it.

Most of its shots are dangerous, but especially avoid the giant stars it fires. They inflict extremely high damage and Slow, which can be deadly in the last phase.

The Lord is rather susceptible to Daze due to a lack of meatshields and its low mobility, so an Archer with a Quiver of Thunder can greatly ease the fight against it.

When he starts flashing red, get away from it before it runs onto you and kills you instantly. Back away from it, sidestepping to dodge its attacks, while slowing it if possible in order to hinder its movement. Continue this and it should be dead.
