The original Lair of Draconis was a high-level dungeon consisting of boss fights against four elemental dragons. It is a source of stat increase potions, UT armors, and other untiered equipment.

During build 22.1, the Lair of Draconis was pre-released to mystery boxes and currently is dropped by the Rock Dragon.

Altar of Draconis

In the middle starting room there are four dragon souls circling the Altar of Draconis; after the black dragon (Feargus the Demented) is killed, players activate one of the three other different colored dragon bosses by typing their respective colors - red, blue, or green - into chat. After all four dragons are defeated, a portal opens up to the final boss; The Ivory Wyvern.

Originally, selecting Feargus first would significantly increase the strength of all the four dragons but allow access to the fifth and final dragon, the Ivory Wyvern. This system allowed players to “troll” by selecting another color as the first dragon to be fought, denying everyone in the dungeon access to the unique loot dropped by the Ivory Wyvern. In release X.31.3.0, Feargus was defaulted to always be the first dragon fought, meaning that players would be guaranteed to have access to the Ivory Wyvern after the first four dragons were defeated.

In release X.X.X.X, the dungeon was heavily reworked to be more engaging. The current version of the dungeon can be found here.

Key:

Draconis Key The Draconis Key is available in the Nexus for 100 Realm Gold and can also be found in certain Mystery Boxes.

Guide:

See the Lair of Draconis Guide for a complete walk-through on the dungeon and all its enemies. There were instances of some people who, while experiencing rubberbanding during a boss fight, no matter how far away they were from the boss, were inflicted large amounts of damage, usually killing them. However, as of patch X.20.1: Oryxmas Eve, Deca has stated that they have pushed a fix that eliminates this issue. Regardless, proceed with caution.

The Realm Eye says:
The Lair of Draconis was once the subject of fables, tales which told of four fearsome dragons made of stone and brought to life with forbidden enchantments.
The dragons did exist in actuality, but they were not truly living as the fables described. Malphas had in fact created them many decades prior.
When Oryx found the lair of these dragons, he deemed their soulless husks perfect test subjects for fusion with elemental sprites.

Tips

The first four dragons (excluding the final boss) can all be defeated by a priest hitting the dragon with the St. Abraham’s Wand. This requires other people, if any, to stand behind the priest as to not aggro/move the dragon out of fire from the St. Abe’s range of 10 tiles so that the priest can be constantly hitting the dragon.

Puri/Prot as well as boosts from Paladins or Warriors are recommended, especially for Limoz.

History

Original Lair of Draconis Portal
Original design of Lair of Draconis and Ivory Wyvern portals.

During release 11 the Lair of Draconis was accidentally put into production. The key was available for 10 or 20 fame in the nexus, and many players ran it, getting the t14 armors and UT Katana. All existing Draconis keys had been replaced with “Consolation of Draconis” keys, which placed you in a room where you kill a red balloon that dropped a random stat potion. During Release 12.0.0, all existing Consolation of Draconis keys were turned into Old Firecrackers.
