The Lair of Shaitan is the first dungeon in Realm. The boss and his minions hit hard and defense will not help here. It is highly suggested to have a 6/8 character and have good dodging skills in tight spaces.

Class tips

Priest

The priest can be extremely helpful in here. The tight battling area and armour-piercing bullets will hurt everyone badly, but the priest is able to heal everyone and protect them from a fiery death. A Tome of Purification can also be extremely useful in small groups preventing players from being overwhelmed by being paralyzed.

Rogue

His cloaking ability is extremely useful in here, as this allows the rogue to go unnoticed to the hands of Shaitan and the creepy small heads, both of which are the main causes of threat in the dungeon. Rogue is a fairly easy solo class, but the run is just under 45 minutes, requires a bone dagger, and perma cloak is almost necessary. Follow the guide below and try to “herd” the minions into a group away from the bottom when you’re uncloaked, and deal with them after the boss’ vulnerable phase. Leaving the bottom open will give you a spot to run through when the minions start to close in on you on one side or the other. The top works as well, but beware Shaitan’s shotgun if you try running that way. When soloing as a rogue, pay attention to when the hands blink red and try to cloak on the 4th or 5th blink. Your t4 or better cloak will time it out perfectly so the hands won’t chase you. Make sure to switch to your bone dagger before Shaitan goes invulnerable, as the mini hands will stack while you are cloaked on the spots where Shaitan will be vulnerable.

Archer/Huntress

With the Archer’s paralysing quivers and the Huntress’s coral trap, they can paralyse the creepy small heads to allow the group to back off far away from them.

-This is a very hard dungeon and it is not recommended to face Shaitan if you are below 4/8. The reward of attack and defense potions isn’t guaranteed, and instead you might end up with a small dexterity tincture. It’s still not a bad experience though, and the skull is incredibly rare and powerful, so if one opens up you might as well go in.

How

Janus the Doorwarden

The Lair of Shaitan can be accessed via the Court of Oryx, which can be accessed after defeating Janus, the secret boss of Oryx’s Castle (which can be accessed after destroying all Armor Suits in the map which can be found in all hallways before the courtyard). Janus is an easy fight with a ranged but takes time if you are soloing (which is unlikely due to a high boost of Janus’s drops making him highly sought after). Janus drops the Court of Oryx when killed. Once inside, the “friendly” NPC Craig will open a random mini dungeon. Although the chance is unknown, the Lair of Shaitan probably has the highest spawn rate.

Navigating through the dungeon

Since this is a boss dungeon, it has only one room. There is hot lava (similar to the ones found in the Ivory Wyvren’s room or the Shatters) at the top half of the room where Shaitan and his hands will spawn along with a platform at the bottom half of the room.

Minions

These hands spawn side by side of Shaitan himself. When first spawned, they shoot out 125 damage bullets and should be avoided. After a few seconds they charge at the nearest player to try and “grip” them, which they do so by shooting paralysing bullets in a short radius around them. This doesn’t do alot of damage, however, creepy small heads that are left un-killed can pose as a huge threat. Both of these hands have to be killed in a short amount of time to make Shaitan vulnerable

Creepy small hands

These spawn when Shaitan is vulnerable and submerging into hot lava. They don’t do alot of damage (around 13 damage armor pierce) but when in large numbers, they can still pose as a huge threat. They move towards you in an attempt to shotgun you with their EP-like bullets and they also slow you to make sure you don’t escape easily. It is advised to kill these if they start overwhelming you.

Creepy small heads

These enemies spawn when Shaitan’s hands reappear again(after he is vulnerable). They deal 70 damage armour-pierce and are by far the most dangerous minions of Shaitan. Their shots are easy to avoid but if they are to be combined with the Hands of Shaitan’s paralyse bullets, you will be Oh-so-sorry you even came in here the first place.

The Boss

  • The boss of the Lair of Shaitan, he has a whopping 90k health along with 150 armor-pierce bullets. He has a total of 4 main phases, with each having the same few phases, but gradually increasing the spawn amounts of minions and his own damage output in each phase.

  • In his first phase, he will not say anything. During the first part of this phase until the hands die, Shaitan shoots a single 150 piercing damage shot every few seconds at the nearest player. When his hands spawn, either left or right or both when this phase starts or restarts, they will each shoot a spray of 4 white circle bullets towards the center of the room, 7 times, with each bullet dealing 125 non-piercing damage. After the hands have spawned and done their spray of bullets, they will stay in the next phase until they are destroyed. They will each shoot 6 paralyzing shots that deal low damage but paralyze for a short time, while chasing the nearest character.If you hold a movement key away while paralyzed, it will not be able to chain paralyze you unless you’re on top of it, in which case watch your hp bar closely and it will be gone in just a second. After shooting 5 paralyze sprays, the hands will return to their starting positions and stop shooting and chasing while they blink red 5 times. The first part resumes again, with the hands chasing and paralyzing. If a hand is destroyed, the opposite hand must be destroyed within a few seconds to continue the fight, otherwise the hand will respawn and fire off the 7x4 spray shotgun, and then must be killed again..

  • Once the hands both die, Shaitan will start spawning 2 mini hands at each the left, middle and right of the room on the edge of the lava, each time he moves. This means 2 at 3 spots, 3 times for a total of 18 mini hands during the damaging phase. He starts at the right of the room, shooting a shotgun of seven 150 damage piercing purple bullets directed at the nearest player, and is vulnerable for 1 second. He will move to the middle, shotgun again, be vulnerable, and then finally repeat the same process on the left side. He will then spawn a mini head in the middle of the room, which will chase you. These do a significant 70 damage per large shot, so avoid them and kill them as fast as possible. If you dealt enough damage(getting him to 67500 hp, or 3/4 HP) to move him to the next phase, Shaitan says “Let loose the fists of war!”. Spots of lava are added to the floor, and two fists will run to the nearest players, and then explode into the same 6 pattern spray shape of the paralyze with slow, blue quieting bullets. The quiet is very brief and if you need you can use a magic potion just a moment later. He will spawn 3 sets of these fists of war, and then afterwards repeats the same vulnerable phase as earlier, while spawning 18 more mini hands and another mini head.

  • In phase two, repeat the same process as phase one, shooting 3 aimed bullets a little quicker when the hands are alive instead of 1, and every time you kill the hands he will jump to his “let loose the fists of war” phase, and will spawn two heads each round instead of 1. At 1/2 HP, Shaitan will switch into phase 3, and give you an extra vulnerable phase to damage him, and spawn an extra set of mini hands and mini heads for a total of 4 when switching phases.

  • In phase three He will say “YOU ARE BEGINNING TO UPSET ME. ENJOY A FAST DEATH!” and repeat from the “fists of war phase” again, spawning the same 18 mini hands and a new total of 3 mini heads each round. While his hands are alive, his shotgun has increased to 5 bullets of 150, and the rate of fire is significantly increased. At 1/4 HP, you will switch his phase to the last one, and have an extra vulnerable phase to damage him again. Be careful though, as the total of 6 mini heads can quickly kill any character with their piercing bullets.

  • In Phase 4, You can expect a constant rain of seven 150-damage piercing shotguns from Shaitan. 8 creepy mini heads in the end of the damaging phase will keep you on your toes, while 18 mini hands starts to seem unmanageable. Expect 4 mini heads each time you cycle the phases. Just be careful not to take Shaitan’s advice this round, as he will be shouting “BE CONSUMED BY FLAMES” this round instead.

  • Once the Advisor has taken enough damage, he will jump to the middle of the room and yell “THE MAD GOD SHALL KNOW OF THESE TRANSGRESSIONS!” and despawns his hands. Any remaining minions may need to be killed. After a few seconds, a chest will spawn.

Side Note(s)

  • Do not be afraid to nexus when you find yourself overwhelmed, try and get a decent sized/good group to fight alongside with you, and good luck in getting the Tarot card or the UT skull!
