The Heroic Orbs were introduced into the game along with the Heroic Abyss of Demons & Heroic Undead Lair, hence the name starting with Heroic. The purpose of the orbs were to balance the heroic dungeons since they were the first dungeons introduced that did not allow pets.
After Exalt Version 2.2.0.0 (Dec 2021), the Heroic Regeneration Dungeon Modifier was added to the game. When the modifier is applied to a dungeon, the minions will sometime drop Heroic Orbs upon death.
After Exalt Version 3.3.4.0 (Feb 2023), the Heroic Damage/Defense/Frenzy/Speed Dungeon Modifiers were added to the game. When the modifier are applied to a dungeon, the minions will sometime drop Orbs of Damage/Defense/Frenzy/Speed upon death.
