Mad Lab (Rev. 7)

Last updated: Release 14.0.0
The Mad Lab is a science-themed dungeon that was added in Build 123.5.0. The lab contains acid pools which inflict stunned, speedy, and turn you into a pet (eg; Oryx, Skunk or Gummy Bear), using a variation to the status effect hallucinating. To get rid of this effect you must walk into a blue pool, use holy water, or be healed by a purification tome. If you are healed by holy water or the tome, you retain speedy until you step in a blue pool. This dungeon is the source of the New Dr. Terrible's Sorcerer Set, which includes a wand, a scepter, a robe, and a ring. Note that this dungeon does not have to be completed to earn the 'Tunnel Rat' fame bonus. There is an on-going myth that destroying the tables in the lab will either increase the Horrific Creations health or lower your chances of getting the UT sorcerer set. However, it is only a myth and destroying the table WILL NOT affect anything about the drop rates.

There are many monsters that inflict stunned and confused. Before build 123.5.1, melee characters without a Crystal Sword could not complete the secret boss quest of the dungeon solo because 4.5 or more tiles of range are needed to destroy the last two Tesla coils. Be careful when confused as you might step in an acid pool or into other mobs or other slow-moving, high-damaging projectiles. It is a source of Potions of Defense and the UT Mad Scientist Sorcerer's set, consisting of the Conducting Wand, Scepter of Fulmination, Robe of the Mad Scientist, and the Experimental Ring. The portal to the dungeon drops at a decent rate from Flying Brains or is available as a key in Nexus for 390 gold.   Back to top

Enemies

Crusher Abomination Enforcer Bot 3000 Escaped Experiment Mini Bot Rampage Cyborg

Out of all these enemies, the Crusher Abomination takes the title for being the most dangerous in the dungeon, it shoots 3 wide bullets in a quarter-circle pattern and before it is damaged in anyway the bullets will be small in size and will not be as much damaging, however as you do more and more damage to it, it will increase in size and also increase the size of the bullets. In its final stage the 3 bullets are massive and highly damaging. Although a person with a decent dodging skill maybe able to dodge them, it is advised to be cautious. Circling the Crusher Abomination can be done if there is enough space, but most of the time you won't find that much space in Mad Lab.
