Stat Pots are Potions that permanently raise a specific statistic. The increase will be lost with death and will not carry over to other characters. Drinking a potion will have no effect when that stat is maxed.
When they originally drop from enemies, all the stat pots are soulbound to a dark blue bag with golden lacing. The pots themselves are not soulbound, and are used as the primary in-game trading currency.
Most Dungeon bosses guarantee at least one stat pot. A Dungeon boss with a guaranteed pot will drop it to a random qualifier if nobody got one through the standard random number generator.

There are plans to introduce Greater Stat Increase Potions into the game. These will provide double the stat increase of a standard potion.
Greater Stat Potions were initially planned to be available as a Tinkerer quest reward, and the Greater Wisdom Potion was available for one day through this method, however the quest was quickly removed due to negative feedback. Further information is available on the archived official forums.
The Greater Wisdom Potion is thus at present the only Greater Potion to be released. Due to its rarity, it can be traded for items worth much more than the 2 Wisdom it provides.
