Mad God Mayhem (Rev. 22)

Last updated: X.28.0
Mad God Mayhem

The Mad God Mayhem is a boss rush dungeon introduced for Month of the Mad God 2018. It drops from the Spirit of Oryx, the final boss of the Oryx Horde. The dungeon is a source of special UT items and a number of vanity weapons.

Note that the dungeon intentionally lacks a difficulty rating.

The Realm Eye says:
To lure adventurers into the chamber of his special creation, Oryx constructed simulacrums of past foes with the enticing offer of three mighty abilities.
The enemies are nothing more than the mirror images of the monsters they represent, but like Oryx’s own simulacrum, the threat they pose is very real.

Key

Mad God Mayhem Key The Mad God Mayhem Key is not sold by itself in the Nexus. It is mainly obtained from certain Tinkerer quests.

The Dungeon

This dungeon is a ‘boss rush’ dungeon that has four bosses, all from Deca’s era, fought in succession. All players entering the dungeon spawn into a small starting room which contains no enemies, and shortly afterwards a portal to the first chamber will appear. Upon killing the boss of each chamber, a portal to the next will appear.

The chambers are as follows:

The bosses in chambers 1 to 3 are able to drop the same tiered loot as their non-Mayhem counterparts, as well as some additional items including T12 weapons and T13 armor, and untiered items exclusive to the dungeon. The bosses do not drop things like Marks, Consumables (including Stat Potions), or the UT items of their original versions. So for example the Gulpord here cannot drop Murky Toxin.

The final chamber will always be the Decaract, a much tougher variant of the Pentaract consisting of 10 Towers that must be killed in order to summon the main central tower.

Layouts

The layout for the boss rooms of all bosses are the same as their original counterparts, with the exceptions being the Permafrost Lord, Biff, and Decaract having their own custom boss rooms.

Tips and Strategies

Using piercing weapons to deal with the Eyes quickly can make the fight go much smoother. Rogues can also use their Cloak to evade all of the bullets, though they must be wary of any Eyes left unchecked once they uncloak.
If at any point you get Sickened while below half HP, nexus. Unless there is a purifying Priest nearby, you can be easily surprised by a horde of Eyes that can rip you apart in seconds.

Notes

The Decaract chamber has the in-game name Oryx Pandemonium Decaract, possibly indicating that the whole dungeon was once intended to be named Oryx Pandemonium. Chest events hosted in the dungeon refer to the final chamber by this name.

If the first room has Gulpord of Slime God, everybody who teleports to that room will be disconnected, probably because the code for the Mad God Meyhem wasn’t updated after the sewers rework, and the rework assets had overwritten the old assets. This will happen 50% of the time, and it is best not to use a key until Deca updates the sewers, or you may lose a key.
